Do you ever play characters when you play Shadow characters?

I've got Warlock of Qarth coming out of Shadows. I've also got Lady Daenarys's Chamber in play.

Lady Daenarys's Chamber- "After you play a Targaryen character…"

Now, by either placing Warlock into shadows or bringing him out of shadows, have I ever played a Targaryen character to fulfill Lady Daenarys's Chamber's requirement?

Short answer: no, you haven't played a character and you cannot trigger Lady Daenerys's Chambers.

When you marshall a card into shadows, you aren't playing it and it has no characteristics other than "card in shadows". When you bring a card out of shadows, you aren't playing it either.
