Gaining Conquest Points

By Awk, in StarCraft

In the regrouping phase you gain conquest points for each area you control with a conquest point icon. This might be a dumb question but if an army’s original base is on a 2 conquest point area, and it’s never lost, does that mean they will win the game in 8 turns unless someone else wins?

Also, once your conquest points start accumulating on the chart I guess they never go back down…..just up.

Just want to clarify this.

Yes points accumulate. The only effect I know of that drops the number of conquest points players have is one of raynors stage three leadership cards that drops everybody else down two points.

Great! Thanks for the help

You very unlikely win with only 2 control points, because the game is much likely to end before the 8th turn. My longest game was 6 rounds (was with 4 players).

Too right, I played 2 players, and I fully annihilated my friend's Terran army within second turn. And I still have 2 Zerglings and 4 Hydralisks still alive.

Interesting. I'm still learning the game and have only played twice but both times the game took about 3-4 hours between 4 players....but we were all learning. I suspect subseqent games will go faster. Is this to say that because of the speed of the game, 3rd tier tech units don't really appear to much because there isn't enough time for them to come out? LIke the Battle Cruiser. Just wondering. Thanks.

Some people might be determined to get them out ASAP, and can dedicate most his build orders on making the buildings for it. Or the game could go on a bottleneck between everyone and hence allow time for the Battlecruisers.
