Stealing…?

By ElfSpeaker, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hello,

I recently picked up the core set to sate my card game fix. I'm quite pleased with the game and intend to expand it. I'll likely start with a second core set (as seems to be the general consensus) followed by the Martel and Greyjoy expansions.

I'm hoping to introduce my girlfriend to the game and that's where my question comes in. She really likes being able to steal things in games. Are any of the factions particularly good at stealing things and which chapter packs offer cards that facilitate stealing?

By stealing do you mean taking control of their cards?

Seductive Promise - Core Set.

Reek - Mountains of the Moon.

Dubious Loyalties - Illyrio's Gift.

Ward - Valar Morghulis

Direct Assault - Kings of the Storm

Men With No King - Scattered Armies

Kraznys mo Nakloz - The Raven's Song

Crown of Meereen - Queen of Dragons

Horn of Dragons - A Song of Silence

Mance Rayder - The Winds of Winter

Greyjoy also has cards that steal gold:

Cragorn - A Song of Silence

Ice Fisherman - The Winds of Winter

IMO the best steal deck would be a Stark one using Reek, Seductive Promise, Ward, Direct Assault and Dubious Loyalties. You could add Men With No King and Reinforcement events to power them too. The problem is they're spread over several different chapter packs and box expansions. Just Men With No King (they come in the same pack as all the Reinforcment events) and Seductive Promise (as you already have the core set) would also work and only need one chapter pack.

Horn of Dragons is incredibly powerful but you would really need to invest in some cards that can give the Dragon trait as Dragons aren't very common. Mance Rayder is the same, Kingdom traited cards are rare, and you would need to make it winter too. But if you wanted too you could put both in a Greyjoy Winter trait manipulation deck (best used with Maesters for the Copper Link ) and include the gold stealing cards.

Thank you very much. This definitely gives me a direction to go.
