Need some help from the experts--Elrond/Glorfindel/Frodo deck.

By JonofPDX, in Strategy and deck-building

Hey guys—I would love some deck help from the experts on here ;)

I’ve had the game for a few months now but due to a sever lack of time (and other people to play w/) I never really played past the Core scenarios. I want to get back into it though so I bought the last 3 APs yesterday (completing my set through Shadow and Flame), broke down the two decks I had and threw together a quick-and-dirty Elrond/Glorfindel deck.
KEEP IN MIND: Like I said, I have played MAYBE 10 games and am still very much a beginner. Please speak in small words ;)
Also keep in mind that this deck will be playing across the table from a dwarf Tactics/Leadership deck utilizing Dain Ironfoot (my girlfriend, who has agreed to play w/ me, liked such a deck when she played before and wants to try it again). That deck hasn’t been built yet so any suggestions there are welcome.

You wanted small words, so I am giving you the first thing that crossed my mind ;)

With 3x Master of the Forge, I would cut lots of duplicate attachments, for example I would only run:

2x Vylia

1x Light of Valinor

1x Asfaloth

and maybe some others. Gives you plenty of room to put in some big cards like Grim Resolve for Elrond.

personally i would get rid of one of the sets of dwarven allies and put in longbeard map maker. he really kills in questing once you have some decent resources….works better with leadership/steward of gondor, but some song of wisdoms with map maker can still work very well. of course that means cutting 5-6 cards out of your deck, and then it would be better with rivendell minstrel to get the songs, which is cutting even more card- thats probably too much of a switch in deck mechanics than what you were looking for

have you considered putting in good meal so you can get a cheap fortune or fate/ out of sight/ gilthoniel?

by the way the deck looks really strong so well done

PS…have you tried solo play? that way you get to play whenever you want happy.gif
