I have a game coming up this week and I want to make sure I know how things work before those cards hit the table. So on to the rules questions. Also, feel free to volunteer any strategy advice or illuminations on subtleties that i might not be aware of.

Isha's Gaze - Does the attached unit get a power for EACH unit healed, like Initiate of Saphery healing 1pt off of 4 damaged units give attached unit 4 power? If this is the case, I will TOTALLY take this card over the War Crown of Saphery.

Tyrion and assigning/applying dmg - If my units (with Tyrion in play) are defending a zone and every one of my defending units has let's say 2 hp, does the attacker have to put 3 dmg on each defending unit before he can dmg my wall, due to 1 dmg being redirected off of each unit? Or does hb assign the standard 2 to each unit before damaging my wall, while all of my defending units are left with one hp because the other dmg point was redirected? How about with Finreir's Guard defending and their 1 hp and 1 Toughness?

Does this damage redirection work with indirect dmg, such as the the indirect dmg I assign myself from Loremasters of Hoeth?

hi jungelcat, yes that is how isha's gaze works so its definitely better than crown.

For tyrion's ability yes you are correct on the latter. If your opponent so wishes to kill your units then he'll have to do 3 damage to each,if not he can ignore the ablility and just leave them with 1hp each.In regards to finrier your opponent would need 3 dmg to kill it due to the 1 toughness and 1 redirect dmg.

Yes,thats how this deck works in order to force the redirect gran_risa.gif Hope this helps a lil.

Yes it helps Slick, thanks. But I just want to make sure I understand your reply correctly. Regarding an attacker damaging my units and then penetrating to my wall - it sound like you're saying that the attacker can choose either way that i mentioned according to how you phrased it. Either put just the 2 pts of dmg on each of my defending units to do more dmg to my wall at the expense of leaving me with a bunch of damaged units OR allocate 3 dmg to each of my units, making sure he kills them all but doing that much less dmg to my wall. I'm a little surprised. I thought it would be one way or the other. Did I understand your response correctly?

Hey junglecat your question got me thinking a little. So i checked the faq, because redirect is not a cancellation effect so you don't need to assign the full 3 damage to kill it,here's the ruling from the rulebook

Redirecting Damage (v1.2)Some card effects allow for damage to be redirected from one target to another. Damage is always redirected after it is assigned but right before it is applied (this occurs during the same timing as Toughness).
It is important to note that players do not have to take card effects that redirect damage from a unit into account when assigning damage to defenders during combat. This is because redirecting damage is not damage cancellation.

I think that should be enough to answer it gran_risa.gif

Yup, I got it now. Thanks alot for your help Slick.

No worries meng :D
