Some Questions regarding Talisman

By Lyckan, in Talisman

I haven´t played 4th edition enough to be certain about following questions. (Sorry if my english is bad)

1 Can I use a fate token to re-roll my result when I am handling the Reaper. When he landed on my space and I roll a 1 for exampel?

2 If I use a riding horse for my movement and roll a 1 on one of my die, can I move the Reaper?

3 If I have 2 Mules can I have a total of 12 objects then?

4 If I have 1 Mule and one Horse and cart, can I have 16 objects then?

5 If I am in the inner region and another character is allways one step ahead can I follow him and encounter him in every move and "skip" the boardspaces?

6 Can I move freely from the Temple to the tavern, I think I remember something like that in the second edition but couldnt find a rule regarding it in the 4th?

#1: Yes

#2: Unclear, needs official clarification. I play that you do.

#3: Yep

#4: Ditto

#5: In the Inner Region only you encounter another char at: Plain of Peril, Valley of Fire and Crown of Command

#6: Nope. The Reaper can 'cos he's got [Cartman voice]: Authoritaaaaaaa[Cartman] gui%C3%B1o.gif

Yep, in my opinion Dam is correct in all his answers. In regards to question 2 though:

EDIT: Misread question 2, new answer follows...

In my opinion no, as you are not ROLLING 1, no you don't. The rules state:

"Death does not move until a player rolls a “1” for his move. "

You are not rolling 1 for you move, you are rolling 1 + whatever else you rolled. That's just my opinion though, it seems pretty clear to me. Although it's a justified question.

So.. if you use the horse you have actually 3 possible choices for moving?

so, it's not that you rolled 2 dices and you do not accept the horse roll and roll again for your normal move?

Sorry I think I may have confused you with my previous answer, I editied it out becuase I misread your question.

If you choose to use the Riding Horse you roll two dice and you must accept the result. You may also choose NOT to use the riding horse, where you would roll one die as normal.

Thanks for that.

So it's sounds pretty easy after all lol gran_risa.gif

So you must make up your mind to use the horse or not. At least you know that you can't move the reaper that turn because you rolled a +1 as you say gui%C3%B1o.gif

But you can run far far away from the reaper gui%C3%B1o.gif

Actually, in the Middle Region you might just wrap around and land on the other side of the Reaper, still within his reach gran_risa.gif ! 12 spaces gets you a lot in the Middle Region.

Great! Thanks for clearifying things, it was mostly as I thought :D

I just remember a last question that came up: A player was the Troll and got the poltergiest, that only allowed him to move one square at a time but he wanted to roll the die so he could use the teleport if he rolled a 6 and move the Reaper if he rolled a 1. And move one space whatever the result was.

So the question is can You roll for movement even though You know the movement will be one?

If you ask me, it is not possible to roll a die if you must move one space from the poltergeist.

The reaper cannot be activated this way, and you may not rolled a die to try to get a 6 for healing as example

But i think that teleport is possible because you have not roll a die for it and you can move only one space with it
