This is only a hypothetical situation. I haven't run the scene yet, and your input into how I can improve it is welcome, as always.
The Setup: A group of acolytes believes a rogue trader is going to be meeting with an infamous tech-witch to buy a Prognosticator; a heretical piece of artificial intelligence that can mimic what a Navigator can do by predicting warp currents. Their Inquisitor has charged them with to destroy this piece of machinery, and if possible silence the tech-witch.
Additionally, the Inquisitor has provided his acolytes with teleportation belts in case things go south. Some may believe that this is too generous, but since tech-witches love creating undead servitors, the belts have also been rigged so that when an acolyte dies, their body is teleported away, thus denying the tech-witches their helpless, fleshy victims.
The Scenario: The acolytes will arrive at the meeting place where the rogue trader and the tech witch are to meet. If the acolytes do a little scouting, they will find the rogue trader has arrived at the meeting spot early, bringing along with him a few body guards and a large crate of gold (payment). The tech-witch will arrive with the prognosticator and with a mean-looking servitor.
The situation seems simple enough. When the heretical item is in sight, the acolytes ambush the trader and the witch, killing as many as possible, and getting the hell out of there via teleportation.
However, a savvy acolyte may realize their chance for a good amount of gold, in addition to helping the Inquisition. If a teleportation belt was modified to go around the gold, all that gold could be teleported away, to be divvied up among the acolytes in a safe place. However, there are no spare belts, which means that one acolyte would have to stay behind, or someone's belt must be forcibly taken off.
The Question: If one of the acolytes is forced (or tricked) out of their belt and left behind at the meeting place by their treacherous "friends", do the surviving acolytes gain corruption points for their actions? I ask because taking the gold would be seen as recovering evidence, and acolytes by their very nature are disposable. But is this a sufficiently evil act to do upon another player that it would warrant gaining corruption points?
