Rounting: Basic Question

By LETE, in Horus Heresy

Hiyas!

Noob question about Routing:

Exactly, what are the effects of a Rounting marker?

Is it basically the same effect of an Activation marker, only longer-lasting - since the Routing marker can't usually be picked up from the board as fast as an Activation marker (it has to be flipped over first)?

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

I think the biggest factor in terms of gameplay is this:

"However, a player cannot retreat if any of
his engaged units are in an area that already has one of his
routed activation markers in it." (p. 33)

Meaning if your units retreat from a combat, they can't retreat if attacked again until the marker has been flipped/removed. VERY effective in hunting down Emperor or Horus if you can't get their units to fall back once, then hit them again (easiest is probably "Titans Stride the Earth" Event as you don't need another order). Also, units in a routed marker region if routed again are killed outright, excellent for Daemon Horder combat effect and "Driven Before the Storm" combat cards.

Hey there Dam:

…I have just read those extra effects… Thanks!
