Calling all artists, writers and designers of 40k inspired works

By Lucien Kallus, in Dark Heresy

Hello everyone, I am in the process of starting an ongoing Campaign website and was looking for people who have any works they have produced that would be willing to let me use them on my site. They would be used to help set a tone and build on the background in Segmentum Tempestus (with plans to extend this in the long term).

I am looking for high quality art works that really fit with the background and ethos of the 41st Millenium and stories, descriptions, background, characters, statistics, world designs and the like.

If you feel like contributing please feel free to P.M. me or indeed post up here. I may also ask if I could change certain things such as names or small parts of stories or art to better fit the sites 'style'. All works will obviously still belong to yourself and i will credit you on the site.

Many thanks. Yours expectantly,

Inquisitor Kallus

Nobody written up any of their own background?

I have some stuff writen up for my own "Gorim Sector" but it's mostly small notes on some planets and Chaos-aliged stuff. Still if you're interested I can send it over, same with some basic concepts for Xenos.

I've written loads of stuff for every 40k system, and love doing it. But I'm totally computer illiterate and…er…can't really master the PM system on these forums! sonrojado.gif

What specifically do you want? Word limit? Topic? Let me know and I'll dump something here for you to use if I think I can help. In fact, that might be a good way to solicit submissions: set out precisely what you want and ask people here to contribute. There's a lot of people here who enjoy writing and making 40k art, and would love an opportunity to disseminate their crazed ravings! happy.gif

I've sent you a PM. I think.

@Jeans Stealer, yes thanks my good man, I received your pm.

What im doing is making a resource/background site. I want to focus on creating an area/areas populated with different things.

These things could be:

Planets

Factions

Groups

Characters

Artefacts/items

Places on worlds (for example the jungles of Ka'laar)

Ships

specific buildings (for example a research station on the ice world of Vale)

Events (historic or current events)

Im less inclined towards actual scenarios and so on, but more focussesd on providing information that players can use in whatever game system it is (in the 40k universe). It will try and encompass all 40k 'games' such as 40k TT, Epic, Aeronautica Imperialis, BFG, Dark Heresy and so on. Rules are far less important at the moment though it would be awesome to have stat lines for characters and weapons/artefacts etc.

So primarily facts/info about things, though cool 'folk lore/rumours/legends' would be great. Im also starting up a collection of 'things' for a book that describes chaotic things/events that i will put into a large tome in for the Tempestus Segmentum. Like an archive book for Malleus, Xenos, Hereticus. Though im concentrating on Malleus stuff atm.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I get it

Right no probs. Erm, I may have a bit of gumpf on Cyrus Vulpa but that's it, not much I can help you with here. Never mind, eh?

Are you still accepting info for this? I usually write up my planets and a little bit of data about the system aswell, I also have some weapons, starships, and various other pieces of information if you are interested. My email is: [email protected]

Definitely, just post up anything, or message it to me

This is just a portion of a two-page Player Handout I wrote up for my first campaign…

'Greetings, and Welcome to Antredes: A Visitor's Guide'

Player Handout 1

The following is an audio/video recording that may be viewed on a single-media data-slate.
Upon activating the slate, a plainly attractive woman professionally dressed in drab browns begins narrating the guide in a gentle yet clear voice (think of the computer voice as done by Sigourney Weaver in the movie 'Wall-E') while gesturing a la spokesmodel-style to vivid scenes that appear in the backdrop.

Greetings, and Welcome to Antredes: A Visitor's Guide
Antredes (An-tree-deez); an Ocean hive-world populated with over 240 million Citizens; is possessed of bountiful wonders and viable opportunities for business, pleasure, and leisure activities. The primary reasons to visit Antredes are: to study at its many Legislative, Senatorial, and Judiciary Universities; to visit the commemorative Graves and the monument of the Honoured War Hero, Urien Vens; to partake in the splendor of the Sorhei Preservation; to relax aboard one of the fabulous passenger liners that cruise the waters of Antredes' Great Ocean; and to share in the wealth of commercial enterprises.

A Word of Caution
If you are visiting Antredes for the first time, it is suggested you think clearly before the consideration of action or speech. It is important that you know: should you impeach any Law, or disobey a lawfully iterated directive, you will be subjected to and held accountable for the full consequences of legally governed reprimands; because Antredes' Legate Institutions are so penultimately skilled, it may take years for the Courts to resolve the legal disposition(s) and/or prosecution(s) of your case(s).

Fact
Did you know: Many of the Imperiums finest Legates, Judges, Legislators, Senators, and Magistrates studied at one of the many Universities here on Antredes prior to receiving their appointments throughout the God-Emperor's realm?

The Vally-Peak of the Sorhei Preservation
Nestled safely in the valley of Antredes' four largest Hives, and concentrated on nearly 300 square kilometers at the summit of Antredes Mons, is the Sorhei Preservation. The Preservation is home to the remaining vestiges of Antredes' indigenous natural land-based flora and fauna. Its environs are protected from the harmful effects of inclement weather by the wondrous and ancient void shields erected by the local Cult of the Machine; may their cogs ever mesh flawlessly.
The Preservation is used (by those that may reasonably afford the luxury) as a vacationing get-away from the otherwise stoic practices of Antredes' Legate Institutions and the tedious minutia of many commercial enterprises.

Fact
Antredes' vast Ocean covers over 90% of the planet's surface, though it no longer supports indigenous aquatic life due to ecological distresses attributed to many commercial laundry enterprises. Instead, the Ocean is utilized as a vessel, repopulated with imported aquatic species. This population is replenished in fifty-year cycles, providing the vital food supplies of Antredes' Citizens…

I have more: a general outline of the five major Noble Houses, their Household figureheads, and their interactions; a detailed history of the local Sororitas Convent (including their patron Saint); a brief history of the local Adeptus Mechanicus; a list of intriguing local customs and their significance (which are actually important for player immersion in interactive ways); a notable "fledgling" Inquisitor (NPC), a recognized Recongregator; significant NPCs, such as Rival Jinx (a very pious wayward youth with a knack for "Emperor-blessed visions"), Omen Dane (a crotchety, dispossessed, semi-alcoholic lay-Cleric with tenuous associations with an underground Redemptionists movement), Xerxes Ransom (an Adept-Interrogator with an extremely anal-retentive attention to details), and more.

I have extensive background write-ups for several other planets and hive-cities, crime organizations (both nefarious and Inquisition-useful), a number of law enforcement agencies (lowly Enforcer types, PDF garrisons, lavishly equipped regiments financed by nobles, criminals and worthies), and several full-length adventures.

Let me know if you're interested, and I'll see about having the files transferred from my other computer for better ease of sharing.
