For a character with a lot of money, can I purchase a small ship or vehicle of any kind? I can't find anything on it.

Best to talk to your GM. As far as I know there arent any prices for vehicles, merely stats (in Rogue Trader for example). RT doesnt use thrones as such, but profit factor, so your could potentially adjudicate the estimate prices on vehicles if they become available to you.

The best way to get a vehicle (and to get around the monetary value of these things) is to steal one (or loot it from a bad ass / heretics).

As a GM, I faced the same problem. Then I put some heretics with a spaceship and a truck, now my players have one, no more problem of giving a price. And my techy is happy.

"let them" steal one, give them one for a couple of hundred thrones a month FOREVER (basically until you move onto a new RPG or a VERY VERY long time) or make up a price on top of your head. a Serf/unskilled labourer earns 30 thrones a month, so at least two generations of the family ought to do it.

These are my houserules I used when my group was on a wartorn planet. A poor quality (listed it as run down, with rust holes in the bed and cabin roof, and brake barely working) electric powered pickup truck I listed with a price of 750 thrones. A common quality gas engine off-road jeep vehicle had a price of 2250 thrones, and dirt bike motorcycles listed prices was 500-1000 depending on size, power, and quality (like a new two seating trike was 1000). Like I stated, this was a warzone so certain item prices tend to sky-rocket when people want/need them. Maybe in a rural setting the run down truck would of cost 500 thrones, bikes 400-750 and jeep 1000 (because in a warzone, almost everything is now off road even in the city Just my two cents worth. Modify it the way you want.
