Arkham Nights 2012

By Julia, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Finally announced. Here . Seems like there is at least one new (revised?) AO arriving for AH. My bet: Ithaqua.

My bet: Nyarlathotep!

Why are you assuming that?

Nyarly for me. My guess on his powers: Masks become Spawns and appear when gates open. If a gate opens and there isn't a mask to put into play then Nyarly gets an extra doom token.

Wonder if FFG will ever reprint all the custom material in some package and make it available to their fans. We don't all live in the States.

I think they will, but not in a short time. Releasing one revised AO / year seems to lead to a package of base game AOs to be out in a long time. At least, they could release them in POD.

Nyarly is also a good bet. Let's see.

Ignoring my question, nice.

I'll try to make it more clear: Why are you thinking there will be some new(I mean - revised, however not 4 sure, think Daoloth) AO? Just because there was one each arkham nights before? Or there is some official confirmation?

Calm down. Here's your answer:

All attendees will receive exclusive gift bags that include commemorative drawstring bags, lanyards, new Ancient Ones for Arkham Horror and Elder Sign, and a souvenir Arkham Nights 2012 booklet. Each early registrant will also receive a commemorative T-shirt and a custom nametag!

Yay! I was just looking for info on this on Wed.

I'll definitely be there.

Even for those of us that DO live in the States. The States is a big place and Arkham Nights is still too far away for many of us to attend. I would really like copies of all the Arkham Nights material.

This year I definitely cannot go, since I have to take the GREs. Even still, MN is far enough from MD that the ticket would be a bit much.

Yea being in maryland sucks when it comes to the Arkham Nights events. I want to go so bad. I just need to round up 2 or 3 friends and make a road trip out of it.

Why did they have to make it the same weekend as NY Comic Con? I already promised my neice I would take her to the convention!

And also being in Sweden sad.gif

Maryland, eh? Wish I could join. But again… GREs.

What part of MD?

Yeah, would really like to go as well. But the price is just too high, travelling from sweden would probably cost at least $800.

And i need that cash for the miniatures.

But @Tbla if you are interested i'd love to play arkham horror. If you live in Stockholm please drop me a line.

Sorry. I live in Gothenburg. But I will keep it in mind next time I go to Stockholm.

Ah, too bad!

Let me know when you get here. A couple of beers and a game of arkham horror is never wrong!

I have all expansions and miniatures. So we are set up for an awesome night!

What part of MD?

Baltimore specifically the western side of the beltway near randalstown.

I just moved from Baltimore, though from the other side of town. Up in Boston now, keeping an eye out for Nyarlathotep. I'd love to go to Arkham Nights one of these days, but I will have just started grad school, and I sure don't want to fall behind in these classes.

No you do not. Nice to see you again, Jack!

Likewise. Moving was a bit crazy, but it's done now. Now I just need to piece together an Arkham group up here. I found this nice place in Cambridge that has open tables for board gaming. Perhaps I can find people there.

My bet for the revised Ancient One is Shub-Niggurath. I'm guessing this based mostly on popularity; she's got her own faction in the LCG, her own expansion in Arkham, and I would say she's one of the most widely mentioned in the mythos. Nyarlathotep is another good guess, but he doesn't lack as much in representation relative to his status (though it wouldn't surprise me if it were him, I'd give even odds on the two).

The reason I would say Nyar is that his official form is disappointingly too weak. Shub is already quite strong.

Cthulhu was revised first, because he's the poster-child of the game. Maybe it was too easy to win by seals?

Hastur was revised because he needed it. He was too annoying to seal and too many people were deliberately waking him early for a swift beatdown.

Nyarlathotep remains so easy to beat in all ways that he is still my first choice for newbies to play against, unless of course they use my Introduction Scenarios.
