Yet another Encounter question

By rdw5150, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hi!

I am at work and do not remember the exact wording of a card, but I had an encounter where I had to make a check and then stay at the location for another turn. I would then get 2 spells. Since I was still at the location the next Encounter phase, I did another encounter which removed me from the location, out into the street. Do I still get the spell since I did not move in the movement phase?

My questions are:

1. If I am stuck at a location for two turns because of the Encounter in turn "1", so I do another encounter on turn "2"? I assume so.....

2. What happens if I am removed from a location in the Encounter Phase, since I did not move do you get the result from the initial encounter?

Thanks!

Peace

Roger

It sounds like an awkward wording of delayed, so you would just be unable to move (Other than standing up) and would have another encounter. If an effect caused you to move, I don't think it would have any effect on your spell acquisition, which would have occured instantly (Unless I'm reading that wrong).

The exact wording would be extremely helpful, as the tiniest difference in phrasing can carry huge consequences in a game like this.

Pretty sure Kevin answered one very similar to this in the faq (or else on the old boards). The reward of the encounter is immediately yours, you do not have to wait until after the stay here next turn/delayed effect ends.
