Xenos in tattered fate

By eponette, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Hi,

I reading Tattered fate (in french but I imagine there aren't many differences). In the beginning of the description of the city, it is written that there are some Xenos in the crowed, enjoying the shows.

Is this a translation mistake? I know that Quaddis is ver y 'special' concerning the Empire's rules; but Xenos!!! Orks? Eldars?

Any idea?

It could refer to Xenos pets, different kind of animals that arent as intelligent as an Orc or Eldar. You have to remember that there are many things defined as Xenos in the Imperium so they are vastly different in looks and behaviour.

It is absolutely viable. The attitude towards xenos (and even mutants) is sometimes not as absolute as the attitude towards heretics or even daemons. While it is not allowed for the common citizen to interact in any way with xenos, this is not so true with the upper echelons of the Imperium. Even moreso in regions where the Imperium does not hold everything under their direct control (e.g. Koronous Expanse). I can imagine some nobles having Kroot bodyguards or even Eldar renegades and Demiurg in their retinue. Maybe not too openly though…

Agreed, I think it might be an error. I don't recall it being mentioned apart from in the Red cages there are 'xenos beasts' for fighting.

I read Tattered Fates in English recently, and I do not recall any mention of xenos enjoying the festivities. As you say, that's a pretty big deal, so I think it would stand out to me. That said, there could be room for xenos, as other posters said, but these would be exceptional cases.
