Awesome characters that need support????

By Crazy Elf, in UFS General Discussion

I did post this on the uk forums but then i have just realised that i would get more replies if i posted it here.

I thought since i i think there are some awesome characters that have been created but the problem with them is the fact there is no support for them, which means not many people play them or if they do they dont work as well as they deserve.

So my question to you all is what charcters do you think are awesome that need some support ????and if you want you can give an example of an ability that would help them.

I think that in general there are too many characters, and not enough other cards.

I would like to see good support for Basara- he is almost formed as a deck but doesn't quite have enough to make it work for him.

Well I want to see what Shadowar gets in set 12 since all we have are characters im looking forward to that the most.

well what i am worried about is in are meta having a lot of people running the same character and some of the decks being nearly the same

That would be a because :

1) A whole deck archetype is completely unviable right now (Yes, Aggro is unviable. If you're seriously considering Aggro to be viable you haven't played it in more than a year, and if you have, you're not sharing the tech.)
1.1) A defensive deck archetype that controls less is thus made unviable by proxy, since that would be made to counter an aggro meta.

2) People run the strongest cards with the strongest characters. Set 11 helped a bit in that regard, but seriously UFS' suffering from MvC2 syndrome - tons of characters, 3-4 are actually viable.

The reason that so many characters are unviable is because people dont take the time to figure out how to use them in a great way.

Its all about oh this symbol is broken/OP lets just use it so i can win instead of coming up with my own strategy

or its oh this character is OP lets use him because i saw someone else do this with him

Ive been working on 3 different wind decks right now.....one is hanzo that doesnt use the kick to kill, 2nd) is an adon deck that uses jaguar thousand and the 3rd) is a raphael deck that use galatica phantom and some way to give him chaos to get the full damage output. 7 speed 19 damage isnt something to laugh at.

What im saying is that the meta would be alot more diverse if people would come up with there own strategies and stop net decking and cherry picking characters

See, I don't see why people are saying Aggro is dead.

Is Chun-li not considered aggro now or something? Because when I saw it in action the right way...it didn't really need any more than 2 turns to win...

exactly all you have to do is hit a few attacks turn 2 so you have decent momentum then wait for there turn and hit them in the face with that killing spike or chun-li kick.....cant think of the name right now lol

If you listen to one of our interviews with Steve he is aiming to make sure that doesn't happen . Steve Doesn't want 9 ibuki's and 8 being cut to diversity he want's the format to be where no one is cut for diversity .

I know thats the intent but is it really going to happen the only way i see it being possible is if they make all characters good like the ibukis and the dononvans or hanzo.....i just dont see that happening

i wouldn't call the Interpol Agent's deck aggro, just because it can kill turn 2. it does that on the strength of one or two attacks.

if you're running 8-12 attacks, and only throwing one attack a turn, and mostly on their turn - you're kidding yourself if you think that's an aggro deck.

Well another thing is they are trying not to make characters that suck so hopefully in the future everything will be playable some how .

Set 11 failed definitely in that regard. I'd dare say that 50% of the characters are playable in mid-level play. It gets less at high level play. And that's one of the highest ratings we've had from a set in ages.

well i think there is alot of good characters in this set which need better support like guile thawk i think remy is amazing especially with billiard player and karens foundation with his attack so much fun might have to type it for the deck building section. but i think there are lots of amazing abilities on some of these characters just not good enough support i mean guiles comb now thats just well what can i say

So wait, you built a Hanzo deck and deliberately left the Kick out?

Are you intentionally trying to gimp your deck? Seriously, Kick doesn't even check a 2. it's a 3cc. Completely solid poke, and comes wrapped in a nice little
"SURPRISE, I WIN!" package with Hanzo.

You're not exactly helping your case by admitting you made your deck inferior to what it could be on purpose.

edit: and you built Adon and Raphael decks that lose to Rejection? Cool

I didnt say i left it out it just doesnt need it to win.....i played like 8 games or so against 3 different decks this weekend and only used the kick twice once against hugo and once against chun-li and that was only because its what i started drawing into when i was drawing with ancient battle and well hugo is hugo i needed the extra 10 damage or so to kill him

And yeah if i get hit with a rejection it hurts but thats what seals and kung-fu traingings are for right....not to mention clean freaks, chesters and inhuman perceptions to get rid of any kind or recursion

STAMP haha lol

I think that the current Block 3 environment Pre-set 12 is pretty diverse.

There are plenty of characters that have tons of Potential, all it takes is for someone to take that character and test out a few builds and pick the one that works.

As far as the OP, I want more support for Q. I'm happy that I finally got my Hugo Support that I've been asking for since like 2 years ago now. Too bad I can't even use my Hugo anymore haha...

I'm really looking forward to the new Shadowar support, as I believe we will get some really good stuff.

I really want some more support for Rera badly.

Oh, and Tycho support... Yeah...

I second the need for more Rera support {like Shikuru as an asset like mamahaha and poppy were} and better Nako support and support for Rimiruru
