UPDATE!

If 12+ people show up for our even this Saturday, then everyone gets 20% off all Call of Cthulhu LCG merchandise at Guardian Games.

If you're on the fence about getting into CoC, this would be a great weekend to try it out and then pick up the Core set for a nice discount!

Thanks to everyone who came down to play on Saturday.

We had 15 players total, threw down some big multi-player matches, handed out a pair of Cthulhu Art Sleeve packs for good sportsmanship, and even introduced a new player to the game - who then took advantage of our group's 20% discount to buy himself a Core set and is planning to come back for our next Mythos n' Microbrews event. Nice!

All in all, a great day.

that was quite fun, yipe. this game and group is developing nicely in our area. thanks a million, once again, to you for all your hard work!

Thanks amigo, that's nice to hear.

My only regret is not getting in any games against either you or grant_babb. Perhaps we can squeeze in an extra meet-up on a weeknight? Let me know.

Also, how did your epic 4-player game go? I was curious to see what decks people were using, and how things unfolded.

yeah, i'd like to get back to the original idea of playing against you and grant sometimes too. i think the occasional weeknight might indeed be in order.

the 4-player thing was strange, but fun. there was a LOT more time to sit and chat or stare off into space or lose track of what was happening than there is in a 3-player game. i think katherine swept that one ultimately, but there was a lot of back and forth and it could have come down to 2 of the others as well. once again, i was little more than a spoiler. but even that was fun. i think i boardswept once at a very inopportune time for the other 3 players, especially eric (if i recall correctly) who was establishing some pretty decent traction prior to that…

the decks were: eric's mono agency, katherine's library & tome-based miskatonic / yog concoction, jefferson's mono(?) miskatonic and my (well, actually FFG's) silver twilight / miskatonic crap deck.

i finally got a chance to play grant late in the day. he was playing a 4-faction deck (i think) and i had 2 different ones plus neutrals in mine. we had 7 different factions on the table between us. strange. but a fun duel. and the crap FFG deck finally came good!

I had fun too. I have a blast with that 4-faction deck, even if I did lose every time with it.

I'll try to find some time in the next week to reach out about a weeknight game. The wife is so obsessed with an update to her online vampire game, she may not know I'm gone :) .

Sorry for being MIA lately, August has been hectic. I just got back from a family vacation up to Canada, we're now prepping for school, and my wife is off on a business trip next week. I barely get any time to tweak my decks, let alone prep for the upcoming highlander tournament - I'm basically down to playing Cthulhu once a month at this point.

Having lined up all those excuses, I definitely want to get in a game against you guys soon. Would the evening of Labor Day work?

Let me know.

labor day evening is open for me at this point.

Looks like Labor Day evening is a go for me as well.

Time, gents?

Is this actually happening? The stars must be right.

Evening-wise, I can get to Guardian Games around 7 PM, maybe a little earlier. Unfortunately, that doesn't give us a lot of time to play. We could try to schedule something during the day, though that gets tricky with kids, etc…

Another option is Red Castle Games. I just went in there last week and it's clean, bright, has plenty of space for gaming and is open until midnight every day.

It's roughly the same distance for me, so I'm good with the alternate venue.
