A Draw is One Point?

By Erwo the Elder, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

In the new tournament rules it states that a draw is only one point for each player. This is the same as a Modified loss. Is this a typo or is this legitimate?

Seems legit. I don't see a problem with it.

I checked with FFG. At this point, it is legit. Effectively, people are encouraged to play to the end, trying to at least get a modified win, rather than playing to a draw.

Like much of the game already (attacker wins ties, for example) it encourages a more aggressive style of play.

Buuuuut, what happens when the finals come down to two Maester decks that no longer have Maesters and have at least one chain on each of their TMP? :-)

~Obviously, neither of those players deserves to win, and victory is given to the 3rd place player.

Best response… ever.

Thank you, thank you! I'll be here all week!

Seems more reasonable to give each player two points. That is such a big differential between the mods and the draw. It really punishes the players for getting a draw. And you get the same points for a mod loss so why even get a draw.

They want to stop collusion and not playing the game through but this punishes players for trying their hardest. If at time, why would I do challenges to get a draw when I would get the same amount of points for a mod loss and actually help my strength of schedule for losing. Seems silly.

Might want to reboot this thread in General Forums since it will get more visibility there.
