Second) the Night card is a killer as it will require you to quest and defend at the same time while increasing your threat level taking you down the downward spiral. When I started to play LOTR I misrepresented the rules and I was actually playing this way. It is impossible. So if you get a location with high threat values at the beginning together with a night you are dead. The night card should be discarded after you move all enemies back to the staging area.

Or there should be some sequence or trigger that put some of those cards like the night to the "Event" deck. It allso helps the situation where quite often the and of the game it soo easy…

Sequence actually sounds good rather than this being a random thing. That way you will be able to plan a massive attack for example and prepare for the night. Anyway I think there are some very good ideas here. We should now let FFG to battle it out and get it into the game so it can be playble and wont break the game.

…and you can always inrtoduce a new event card to counter the nasty night and dusk cards.

just like "take shelter" can get rid of a nasty snowstorm, maybe you could have something like "flaming torch" to brighten up the darkness

"night" is quite nasty, but that's why i made "dawn" so good. once you have battled through the night, dawn comes and everything looks a bit better, allowing you to slowly heal your characters back up

that's why i like the idea of being able to pick and choose which weather cards you drop into the quest. imagine doing something like "the dead marshes" with only night and dawn. you start with night showing, and the idea would be to battle your way through and hold on as long as you can, before dawn comes and rescues you. but of course you never know when dawn is going to come, which adds a whole new little side-story to the quest.

I really like this. I am going to create few cards like that and I will try to play few test games. I am thinking about making a separate weather deck and draw a card every 2 turns or so. I will see how it will work.
