If i use dorans game to cancel a targ only card such as hatchlings feast and then followed up to kneel a second learned character to attach that event to my house card that i can then play as if it were in my hand. I'm not allowed to play it am i due to the house restriction. correct?

"House X only" is just a deckbuilding restriction. It can only be built into a deck with the specified House card. But once the game starts, it doesn't mean anything.

So, "House X only" simply means the card can only be brought to the game in an X deck. It offers no protection or other rules modification during play.
