Starting as a Wizard

By Gazery, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Really dumb question here, but I wanted to double check everything I do, to ensure I do it correctly!

I am creating a new character, which is going to be an Apprentice Wizard. I just wanted to check what he gets for free, what I need to buy etc.

I am afraid I am going to ask about every step!

I have chosen a human Grey Order Apprentice Wizard from Reikland.

1. Characteristics - All characteristics start at 2, then Primary Characteristics - Intelligence and Willpower increase to 3? You then need to pay for any increase, cost is the level of the new characteristic. (so to increase strength to 3, would cost 3 points, to increase Intelligence to 4 would cost 4 points, etc) Max characteristic is 5?

2. Wealth - I think I get this one.

3. Skills - I get Channelling and Spellcraft as Acquired for free? I would need to train them to gain an expertise dice for them. For advances, I can only train/acquire skills that are my career skills?

4. Talents - I get the Talent Card Grey Order for free? Any others I would need to purchase.

5. Actions - I get several action cards for free? - Basic Action cards that everyone gets (as long as I meet requirements) + Channel Power + Petty Magic cards? (which I have Cantrip, Arcane Bolt, Magic Dart and Counterspell)

6. Thresholds - Wounds is 9 + Toughness, Corruption is 5 + Toughness, Shame is Willpower + Noble Rank?

I think everything I have asked is correct, just wanted to double check. My main question I have is the part in bold, do I also get those cards and if so how many, all?

Is there anything else I am missing?

Thanks in advance, Gazery.

I don't remember Arcane Bolt as a petty magic card. I thought it was just Cantrip, Counterspell and Magic Dart.

Other than that, it looks like you got it.

Ah excellent, thanks.

Arcane Bolt is an NPC Petty Magic Spell from The Creature Vault. My bad!

Cheers again for the confirmation. Gazery

jup, our wizard was created the same way. everything done correctly!

arcane bolt is, of course, a NPC action
