Perfect Imbalance - by Extra Credits

By Saturnine, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

One of my favorite online shows has just released an episode about "perfect imbalance," a concept that is also relevant to A Game of Thrones. I thought it might be interesting to some people.

Watch it

do i have to?

Likewise. I didn't know about that show, but I really liked it. Well worth the 7 minutes. (TWSS)

That sounds incredibly like this card game I play… :P

This faction is OP, this deck is OP, etc. etc.Every 12-14 months it is something different getting complained about. Now this is not to say there are not hiccups, but at times I wonder if a fair portion of the development errata and restriction isn't done to spur us on to find the answers that already exist in the game, we just get fixated more than normal. Maesters are still getting complained about but there have been numerous regional wins over the deck in pretty much all its flavors this season, proving it has available answers, but many people still play maesters and as a result they ares till over-represented in the metagame. I'm beginning to think our collective unwillingness to experiment and instead participate in group think is causing a perception of imbalance when the crdpool itself has long since moved on from maesters.

Then gain I could be giving Nate and Damon too much credit. Meh. I love Extra Credit. I've only seen a few shows in the past but they were great. I think I'm going to need to watch more frequently.
