To edit your signature, click on your name, scroll down to the bottom. There should be a section called "signature in the fourm" On the right, there should be an Edit button.

As for printing out, consider keying your encounters to an index, using either dice or a deck of cards as a randomiser. When play-testing, it's considerably cheaper (and less time intensive) to print out a word document or pdf than to print out individual cards. Once you're settled, then you can build the encounter decks.

That's a very good idea for play testing. Thanks. I hadn't yet conceptualized that far. I'll get on making an index very shortly and put it up on a .pdf or something. At 24-30 encounters per location, I'm not sure on the logistics of determining which is which. It looks like a deck of cards (ala the other DL expansion out there) is the way to go. When crafting the encounters, I documented the probabilities of the existing game and expansions (an exhaustive practice) and tried to make them blend well (positive and negative outcomes) which eventually led to my creating Heralds as well, just to balance the Guardians. I'm still thinking about trimming down many of the cards (fewer Allies and Nemeses, fewer encounters, etc.) but I haven't yet come to any conclusions. Hence the premature dissemination here. I'm looking for feedback from some of those who have the time and interest in contributing.

I recently moved across country with half of my stuff in an old pick-up -- Beverly Hillbillies style -- and probably won't be able to make the trip back to get my Arkham stuff (not to mention the rest of my clothes, furniture, etc.) until the end of this year or beginning of next so play testing for me, anyway, is on hold. I think it's fair to say that I'm going through a few withdrawal symptoms.

Thanks for the signature heads up. After I asked, I dug around a bit and found out how. I'm still just waiting for the Dropbox files to upload so I'll have a hyperlink at the ready. Hey look, it's done!

After I get all this squared away (version 1.0, anyway) I'll go back to my original - and much smaller - expansion, Mountains of Madness. It will take a LOT less printing out than will this one… thankfully.

WOW! Apparently, dropbox cannot handle all the traffic generated by these links. I had no idea of their policy for traffic until now. Thank you for your interest!! Because of the run-around they offer as "service" I will not be utilizing that site anymore. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other similar sites (with better service). I will be posting them on Boardgamegeek once I have it complete since it is such a lengthy process for that site. Any tips or links would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again!

OK!!! Finally have the new files updated, expanded (yes, there's more) and cleaned up a bit. Here are the SE and I will just replace the existing picture links with the new ones when I get around to it. I swear, uploading this has been the most difficult part of this whole process. Thank you for all your input!!

What did you change? I've been using some of this material as the basis for additional encounter cards for Arkham Nightmare and OW encounters.

I didn't change much from the encounters except to clean up some of the syntax. What I did was add a couple more allies, made 15 blights, added a couple of monsters and created a PDF rulebook. Oh, and I made the Dreaming deck which - instead of the Dreaming Ancient Ones sheet - is just a card for each non-DL AO to save some room. I added some corruptions, madness and injuries as well. I think that's about all the changes from before. I'm glad it's seeing some use! It's looking like I won't be able to retrieve my Arkham Horror stuff for a few more months. Bleh…
