My absolute favorite so far is what I'm playing right now: Banisher Cleric from a noble house. Before that it was the Cyber Mastiff Handler. Both are very specialized and so much fun to play as!

Which brings to mind a question….

When using a Rogue Trader alt rank in Dark Heresy, what rank do you grant access to the alt rank at?

For example, take Genetor. The requirement says "Rank 3 (10,000 xp)." Would you use the rank (3) or the xp (10,000, which is rank 8),

Also, I don't see a difference in a Rank 1 alt rank and a Rank 0 alt rank……am I missing something? Both (usually) include text to the effect that "This does not affect your starting skills, only how you spend your starting XP"

Hands down, the Templar Calix of the Scholastia Psykana, for two massive, massive reasons.

MASSIVE REASON #1
Because it takes the Savant Militant path and transforms it from a severely underpowered career for Psychic cannon fodder into it something that's not only more than merely playable, but pretty **** cool . Any career package that fixes everything that's wrong with a path (save the pretty much unjustifiable disparity in Psy Rating) is great in my book. My only worry is the career's vulnerability to the depradations of the vile and heretical breed of abhuman known as munchkins.

MASSIVE REASON #2
It basically sets the template for good class alteration packages (ie; reasonable stat shuffling and the like) ages before another example of such appears.

Other fun careers in my book include any of those from the Radical's Handbook (I think? That or Disciples of the Dark Gods) that offer completely legitimate and acceptable loyalist careers like the Imperial Diviner, but also have the option to learn sorcery built into the alternate package. Temptation awaits you every time you earn XP!
