I missed the power dice.

By PBnJ, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

So i was thinking of using one (black) power die at the cost of 1 fatigue, 1 silver die at the cost of 2 fatigue or 1 gold die at the cost of 3 fatigue. Seeing as Fatigue is use alot more, it now make it more of an heroic effort to spend the fatiuge for 1 power die. A hero will only get 1 power die per roll (not 1 of each). Not sure how th numbers play into it for balancing but it does give players that heroic effort feel. ANy thoughts?

Sorry i over clck'd

While I miss the power dice too, I'd be cautious in introducing them, particularly at such a cheap cost. Wounds and surges both seem to go a lot further in 2nd Ed than they did in 1st Ed. Being able to have a 1/3 chance of an extra surge is *huge* in this game, since most attacks can only do 2 surges max, if you're lucky. Plus, it will slow your game down, since heroes will spend time tallying the damage, and then deciding if they want to add a die to the roll, etc. And lastly, the OL has no way of adding power dice but the heroes do, so you'd almost want to go through all the monsters and tweak accordingling. Might be something as simple as Act I Masters gain 1 black die. Act II Minions gain a black and Masters gain a Silver.

Good luck, I'd be interested to hear how your games go.

Yeah, I would avoid adding extra dice. You could, of course, but don't expect the game to proceed as designed.
