Custom Expansions?

By lemmingsunday, in Fan Creations

Hello -

The Arkham fanatics are exploding forth with wonderful custom made expansions.

AirborneXOX is back with his fantastic Machinations of the Migo, which if you haven't tried is a great work in process.

The Spanish Arkaham community is working to finish their intense version of Innsmouth.

What has been completed for the Cult of the Golden Scarab kicks some serious dust up.

The MESSAGE has give us the Mini-Woods expansion, and recently the THING.

Nyogtha has presented us with Haunted House expansion.

Wordmaker has shambled forth with the Mummy.

Mykayel has summoned for the Lost Tower.

What a great great fan base, for a great game.

Does anyone else have anything in the works?

I am finishing up on a mechanism that introduces a grand cultic ritual that adds all types of nasty chaos, and the investigators are racing to prevent the ritual's completion.

I'd like to work on an expansion that would be a map board for subterranean locations under Kingsport, the sewers of Arkham and labyrinths of Innsmouth. If anyone has a good idea how such a board could be implemented into Arkham Horror, please share.

Hi, I have done 'Jenny Barnes Investigates' and before that 'Citizens of Arkham'; they are posted on boardgamegeek.com in the Arkham Horror files. There is a ton of stuff there to check out.

There's a Cairo expansion at work by a french fan, but it's only in the first steps, there's no pictures to see yet

That's not the only spanish project, there are two others, each with a board : one about Hollywood and one about Salem

I have in my projects (I always have many projects, but they are not always finished or even begun) an extension with a Mesopotamian theme (I got bored of the inevitable Egyptian theme, though I really enjoy it (and I should: I studied Egyptology at the university)). Those of you who are fans of the call of Cthulhu RPG (by Chaosium, the only true Cthulhu-RPG) may remember that it was said therein that the name Cthulhu comes from some language in that area of the world. Knowing the malevolent deities that dwelled in the mesopotamian minds, there's clearly something interesting to be done. For the Exorcist movie fans, they know that it all began in Mesopotamia by the finding of a demon's statuette...

Concerning the mechanics of the expansion, there will be a use of the old Mesopotamian Calendar, which had some months of ill omen demonio.gif . I guess of new board is also needed, though I'm not still quite sure as to why the investigators should make an Arkham-Babylon trip...

As I've said above, there's still nothing done, but I'm pretty confident I will at least begin work on it soon. happy.gif

You could simply make it a stand alone expansion/board. I have three such projects in the works (Don't expect them anytime soon, I work too sporadically) and it looks like it works on paper. Tons of work though, hehe.

I'm currently working on an Odin Sphere based expansion. The board setup is 4 streets and 8 locations, and obviously 2 other worlds.

Current unique function of the board: Generals and Warlords will occasionally appear, causing bad effects on the board when summoned/try to move. Defeat them for prizes, or at the very least to avoid further destruction. The current system for Generals and Warlords functions very similarly to The Dunwich Horror expansion, but it's different in that there are a good many Generals and Warlords instead of just 1 Dunwich Horror, and they come out much more easily and frequently. For the record, only 1 can ever be on the board at a time, and it gets replaced with the new ones.

Unique function in progress: Alchemy. More details coming....whenever I figure out how to make a successful alchemy system for AH. Got some inital ideas but need to work with them.

This board is also being made with 5 Ancient One sheets and 5 Investigator sheets. Currently, 2 Investigators and 1 AO are finished.
