Any big point descrepencies from DT to DW AP?
Any surprising stats or cool new Special Abilities?
Any errata that wasn't in the errata PDF?

I only want to know if there are any new axis and ally company builds
Got mine on saturday, No new axis or allied platoons. They just added the new tanks which you can take if it says any medium walker in the platoon structure.
The SSU only has 2 platoons, a defense and a political platoon.
Defense platoons are led by the command group and can include commisars as a support. Most of the actual platoon lists involve the figures already released, the only ones I don't have in my collection currently are the airdropped tanks and the attack chopper.
The political platoon is led by a commisar squad they can take a chopper as an extra support. Same platoon list structure as defense.
I'm running a list tonight.
Defense platoon:
1x command squad
2x rifle squad
1xgrandma and whats her face
1x rocket commisar
1x badass commisar
1x badass commisar
1x rifle commisar
upgrade political importance(lets me take the 2 extra commisars
political platoon:
1x commisar squad
2x close combat squad
2x transport choppers
upgrade air cavalry (lets me hop out of chopper after activation)
should be close to 300 like 299 or something(I can't tell for sure subbed one of the solo commisars out after realizing cc squad has assault already)
Other than that its just air rules compulsary movement unless you have hover, and no more than 90 deg turns unless you have hover. Choppers have 12 inch move. Ohhh yeah and no reload on the molotovs(AWESOME!!!).
If you have any other questions let me know.
Ohh sorry shadow4ce heres the answers to your questions:
1. all the squads seem to be about 20 points except volunteers who are 15, tanks are decently cheap. Same price for everything else.
2. They have the same special abilities as the last even down to the flip of the dice roll. Strategic genius is different, I'll have to read it again didn't pay much attention to it since I don't have the mini.
3. No extra errata only new rules.
Do the platoon structures emphasize anything? (like a lot of armor, a lot of air power, etc)
Any new axis and allies platoons?

Already answered as no
Is the book softcover or hardcover?

Fail, guess I missed that part.
Its a softcover book.
The focus seems to be on numbers. SSU commisars have the ability to join 2 of the same units together. I'm actually arguing on whether I should join the 2 rifle squads into 1 unit. The units seem to be very strong against infantry 2 and about the same against 3 as allies. The fun comes in the creative use of the commisars and air transports.
Please tell me about the Wotan…
Schwere LaserKanon Range?
Is it 2/3 vs all vehicle types?
Also, is this a legal list? (It's all I own so far of SSU).
- Koshka & Gran'ma
- SSU Command Squad
- SSU Rifle Squad
- SSU Close Combat Squad
- SSU Airborne Transport with Chinese Volunteers
- Nadya Medium Walker
If so, how many AP?
You're list is legal (except the chinese volunteers but I think they're good sorry don't have the book in front of me) and it's 214 points.
Ohhh and my friend you will enjoy the Wotan
2/4 laser against armor 4 and 2/3 against anything armor 6 or above
I think it's 2/5 against armor 3
Any idea for the release in pdf?
Is the book worth getting for someone who just plays Axis and Allies? Or is the only thing such a person would want out of it is the stats for the new medium walkers?

Pretty sure it has rules for a campaign too.

I would suggest getting it because they have flyer rules which one day you may end up playing someone who has flyers and you'll keep going "They can do what now!?" Also It has two new tank Variants for Allies (Cobra and Rattler) and 2 new tank variants for Axis (Flam luther and the Lazer one)
I don't know anyone else with the game - I play mainly with my wife and a couple of friends - don't see me playing against SSU any time soon.
But I definitely plan on getting flyers for the Axis and Allied units when they are released, so when that time comes, perhaps I will pick up the book.
Thanks!
Yeah Felkor, in your position I'd probably hold off. However, when I get my hands on my copy later today, I'll PM you if there's something in it I'd want if I were in your position.
@ Emilio68it - I wouldn't hold my breath for a PDF of this one. I'm hopeful, but it's a $20 softcover which they may not do in PDF. If they do, it could be months down the road based on FFG's PDF releases in the past. Dust Warfare Core Rules were an anomaly due to selling out of the entire 1st print run in record time. They didn't want to lose momentum, as rules sales = model sales = profit.
….sigh….well, nothing else but buying it!
They also include 3 player rules and scenarios, if that's something you would like. If you have axis or allies then there's nothing huge just those two new medium walkers (which are fantastic).
Also played a game last night 200 points axis vs ssu, and wrecked with ssu. their close combat squad with the air transport is great. 36" strike range is ridiculous
3 player rules would actually really rock - could make it easier to get the game out when I have friends over.

Honestly, I hope I'm wrong. It won't hurt me either way, as I like having a printed copy at home, and a PDF for my iPad, which always goes with me to the game shop. Please don't base your decision solely on my beliefs, as they may release a PDF next week for all I know. I just doubt it.

That's pretty crap, They know what models are being released this year so whats wrong with putting in the platoon lists for the Guards so we can have all of the SSU lists in one book!
