Got mine on saturday, No new axis or allied platoons. They just added the new tanks which you can take if it says any medium walker in the platoon structure.

The SSU only has 2 platoons, a defense and a political platoon.

That's pretty crap, They know what models are being released this year so whats wrong with putting in the platoon lists for the Guards so we can have all of the SSU lists in one book!

Because, and I am very serious about this as I know for a fact it was the case, when they wrote the book and sent it of to the printers they didn't know which units were coming out atm. Everything in the book was everything they knew was coming out AT THE TIME for SSU. NOW they know of new units coming and all and can work on that. It takes Several MONTHS at the printers to get a book printed bound and shipped to distribution centers around the world. Not even Joking, people are not aware that it is between 4-6 months after a book has been sent off for printing before it hits shelves. It's the same pretty much across the board even in the big companies like GW.

Additionally there are many SSU units that are in the SSU book that haven't had their models released for Dust Tactics yet. Like the combat helicopter and a few others. It doesn't take much to announce an upcoming model for Dust studios all you need is a produced model and the stats. Then they announce it, then they have to began production on it which takes a while (again looking at almost 6 months out before the model hits shelves).

So, this was a contentious subject on the Tactics side, so I'm wondering about Warfare. Do the Nikita's artillery weapons require an out of ammo token?

I believe the reload is there, however, it does have burst unlike the other artillery weapons. It's also not a spray weapon so you'll pretty much be rolling 6 or 7 dice when you attack.

We don't have "out of Ammo" really just reload. The only one shot items are the bombs on attack helicopters. As for Nikita's weapons they have the Artillery and Grenade special rules neither of which causes you to need to reload.

Hey Farvo! Can you answer this question for me? What units can i take for a defense platoon and what are the sections like?

The book wasn't on the Esdevium Games (main UK distributor) New Release pdf for the week beginning July 30th. That means the UK won't get it until August 7th or 8th at the earliest.

I hope it won't take too long for Zverograd to show up here.

Well, the first section has the three squads Battle, Close combat, and Rifle. After that it switches so that only 3 of each unit is allowed so the next one is Battle, CC, Auxiliary(Chinese). And each section excludes one of the original three and replaces it with the aux squad.

I don't know how much I'm supposed to post and if FF will yell at me.

This army yells hordes of units. Each squad including the aux includes grenades which can do hell to a tank but with 6" range you'll have to get close.

I think my friend and I have been theory crafting and a great army could actually use like 12 sections of units and one Attack helicopter and be very good. I even wanted to tell him to exclude the helicopter.

thanks Farvo. If you could answer one last question though would be great. Iwill be getting a Command squad, CC squad, Battle squad, and a walker how much AP would that be about?

AP cost of those units (in the order you mentioned them ) - 25, 21, 20, and 30-35ish irc. Don't have the book handy to be 100% sure on those, but you're looking at very close to 100 AP give or take 5-10. It depends on which Walker. I'm certain of the AP cost on the two infantry squads, and fairly certain on the Command and KVs.

Thanks shadow! I appreciate your help

Anytime. I double-checked, and the Command Squad is 25, so I was right on everything for the most part. The KV-47s 30 AP for two of them, with the B-model Natasha (Dual 45mm Howitzer armament) coming in at 40. So highest AP combo will be 106 with Natasha. If you use A or C model KV-47, you'll come in at 96 AP.

Ok then ill be making it in at 106 AP. Natasha is the one i think will be most effective for anti tank.

Depends on the terrain and the opponent. If you're going up against Allies in light terrain, sure. If you're going up against Axis in light terrain, won't matter, they'll own your Walker. In heavy terrain, take one of the other two and murder them.

OK thanks for that input. I honestly have no idea as to what will be effective in Dust Warfare as im only a beginner (havent even played a game yet).
