So this little issue came up today and a quick google search turned up nothing, so here I am. My opponent attacks me with a 3 str deadly character for a military challenge. I kneel two 2 str characters to defend the challenge, one of which is a war crest. I win the challenge and then choose my war crest character to die for deadly. My question is: Can I now play Die by the Sword, or not?

I see no reason why not, you meet all the play restrictions to play the card. Is it just the fact that he's now moribund that gave you reason to think otherwise? Even if the character did need to still be in play (which he will be, regardless, since he doesn't leave play until step 6 of the challenge resolution, while response occur before that), the card only says you need to have one participating war crest, which you did.

Ok, that's what I thought but I wasn't quite sure. Thanks for the answers guys.
