As I understand it, you cannot use spells against The Eagle King, or other end game monsters. This may be nitpicking, but I was wondering if you could use spells that affect yourself or enhance your own abilities. For example, Psionic Blast is cast upon the character to enable him to combine his Strength and Craft, is it allowable at the endgame, or are all spells disallowed?

Yes, boosting yourself is fine. Note that PB only adds your Craft value (aka starting craft, printed value on the card), not your entire Craft. And you only get it for attack. Better spells are Brainwave/Energize which last until the end of the turn as those end fights are done in one turn if you keep on winning battles. Best of course if you first cast a spell and/or use a potion/elixir in the Dungeon to defeat LoD by 8+, exiting at the CoC, the end fight takes place same turn, so those bonus you had against the LoD should be effective (if you used until end of turn boosts) still.
