I had encountered several cards that seem to grant themselves a bonus, for example:

Randyl Traly - characters with the war crest gain +1 str.

Randyl has a war crest… does he get +1 str?

Yes, he gets the bonus, since he fulfills the condition. If he wasn't meant to, his ability would read "Your other [WAR] characters get +1 STR." Compare the Old Red Priest, which reads "If you control at least 3 other Asshai characters, …"

Actually that is intolerant priest, not ORP. ORP is the best weenie in the game.
