So what are the chances of Ordos Sourcebooks?

By antijoke_13, in Dark Heresy

hey all! i'm a bit new to the Dark Heresy Universe, but i ended up picking up the Daemonhunter supplement since it was a nice addition to the game i'm running. does anyone think they'll do ordos sourcebooks like they're doing with the chaos gods in black crusade?

Well, Daemon-hunter is out and its the Ordo Malleus Book. Blood of Martyrs is out and it covers Ordo Hereticus more or less. What's really needed is the Ordo Xenos Book. Granted, the Deathwatch is its own game completely… Its still the Ordo that needs the most love out of the three, I find.

Who knows whats going on behind the scenes- and even those that do know aren't allowed to talk about it. So all we can do is hope.

I'm anxious for an Ordo Xenos sourcebook. There are a bunch of Calixis Sector-specific xenos mentioned in The Radical's Handbook that I'd love to see more info on. I currently run an Ordo Hereticus-based campaign, but when this one wraps up, I plan on going Ordo Xenos next.

An Ordo Xenos supplement in the vein of Daemon Hunter and Blood of Martyrs would be very nice. I have this feeling deep inside that Ordo Xenos must be the most awesome of the big three, but the way they're under-represented in the sourcebooks leaves me with little to do about it. Even Deathwatch, a whole game about OX' Chamber Militant, is notoriously secretive when it comes to their activities.

I have always thought Ordo Xenos to be the coolest. There are tons of heretics, but what, you either sneak in or bust down the door to get rid of them. Daemons are scary, but they are also more of a known quantity to some extent. But Xenos, it covers Eldar, Tyranids, Necrons, Hrud, Slaughth, Tau, Jokaero, Enoullian and so much more.

Then the interactions, there are so many sliding scales of radicalism, from working grudgingly with them in need, to trade/using xenos tech and actually being a friend and then it is different with each race.

It is hard to sum up, but they have a lot of potential.

And Orks. Don't forget the Orks. Waaaagh!

I agree entirely that there should be an Ordo Xenos sourcebook. We need more love for the Alien Hunters.

I can't believe I did, but then again, the best solution for orks, is bombs, flames and PURGING

I'd kill for an Ordo Xenos book. They're my fav Ordo, and you could put in so much stuff for weapons, wargear, character types, adversaries (a version of the Koronus Bestiary xenos creator could work in there), rules for Xeno Cults (maybe even bring back Genestealer Cults) and all sorts of things. Plus it would work as a great bridge for Deathwatch.

Oh god, I forgot about how you could have an Ordo Xenos investigation team and let the players do their thing, but when it comes time to PURGE then send in the DeathWatch PCs. And Xenos have the coolest/craziest gear, usable but hidden dangers (Mecronoid armor is a cool example) and the Alien, well, there are so many different kinds and unlike Daemonic items, they are not instant DEATH/INSANITY/CORRUPTION, but can be wonderfully dangerous without overdoing it.

I haven't been able to track down the KB yet- is the Xeno Generator in it signifigantly different from the one in the DH GM's Screen?

Yeah, that's what I'm planning on doing with my next campaign- a group of Ordo Xenos Acolytes doing the investigating, exposing nefarious alien conspiracies, and a Deathwatch Killteam who do the purging…

Significantly so. It's a whole chapter, for starters, not a few pages at the back of a GM booklet, with full rules for creating various types of flora and fauna, full examples, how variout traits (and there are loads and loads of new traits) affect their stats, skills, talents and so on. You can do everything from basic plants right through to primitive xenos civilisations.
