Knee Gatling & Momentum (Timing)

By tuggs, in UFS Rules Q & A

Knee Gatling's static effect reads:

"After you add this card to your momentum during your End Phase, add X cards from the top of your deck to your momentum. X equals the difference between your momentum and your opponent's momentum."

Let's say that my opponent hits me with a reversal after partially blocking my Knee Gatling. I then follow up by playing two more attacks- both of which deal damage.

When it's time to add cards to momentum, *when* does Knee Gatling's momentum-grabbing ability kick in? Is it before my opponent has an opportunity to put their reversal into their momentum, or do these occur simultaneously?

I apologize if this has already been covered (my guess is that it probably has).

Thanks,

The Tournament rules have got you covered.

303.1 Both players clear their card pool. The player whose turn it is start’s with the card farthest to the right of their card pool and works their way back to their left. Then their opponent does the same.

In practice most people clear their card pools simultaneously, and often clear their foundation and attacks in two swell foops rather then going right to left. In practice it usually doesn't matter, but there are a few times where it does. This is one of those.

in the underlined circumstances, you would first add the 2 attacks to the right of your knee gatling to your momentum then knee gatling goes in. assuming you you and your opponent have 0 momentum before the end phase then you would end up with 6 and him with 1

*STAMP* to all of the above.

turn player clears first, gains 3, then 3 more. opponent clears.

I dont know if you knew..but Knee Gatling is hawt
