This was our first use of the Character Deck in the main Runebound Game. What a different game it was! Loads of fun. We used the Wildlander, Runemaster and Shadow Walker decks. We started out a little shy with playing cards on each other but that soon changed. After the third player had gone we seemed to go out of our way to play cardfs on each other. All of us are experienced board gamers and even with using the Character Decks the game still moved quickly. The main thing to get used to was the timing of when to play certain cards. With a few more plays it should be second nature.

The only chang to the rules was that we used glass beads for the Threat Pool. Many times we exceeded 10 on our characters.

Near the end of the evening the High Lord Magrath was defeated by the Wildlander but victory was snatched by the Shadow Walker playing Bone of Ashes card returning the Challenge back into the Red deck.

I would recommend the Character Decks to any Runebound player, they will make it a whole new game.
