I was looking at trying to use Valar constructively and safely in my House Dayne deck but ran into a snag. The idea is that I'd like to use Southron Vessel and Starfall Healer in a way so that I could Valar and then save at least two good characters from death. My question is- can I use the StarFall Healer's ability as a reaction to Valar, or does the plot just happen and I have no response?

A plot kill is the same as any other kill as far as saves go. You can respond with Starfall Healer.

You can save characters from being killed by Valar. Just ask your local Greyjoy player.
