The art of Seduction versus Citadel Law

By dennisharlien, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I'm sure I will get some quick answers to this. I think I am doing this right but please correct me if not.

Player A reveals The Art of Seduction and Player B reveals something else. Player B then playes Citadel Law to reveal a new plot card. This is acceptable because TAoS says "the opponent may not reveal a new plot card during the plot phase next round." Since its still this round its valid. Next round Player B pre-plots a Citadel Law. Player B still cannot reveal another plot card because this is the next rounds plot phase.

Thanks in advance for the clarification

The chosen player cannot reveal a new plot card during the next plot phase by any means - effect or game mechanic.

However, the chosen player is not prevented from using a card effect to reveal a plot card at any other time.

There goes my monopoly on dennishood.

So they could still use Citadel Law during the same plot phase that AoS was revealed against them correct? Just not during the next plot phase. Though if you are playing CL you could force your opponent to change their plot if you didn't want to change your own just yet.

So Citadel Law to replace Art of Seduction isn't going to help you.

Oh that makes sense. It creates a contract just like the Mutual plots. I still seem to get that confused with plots like Focuses Offense, since it's effects are only in effect provided it is the revealed plot.

Guess you have to stick with either CL to reveal into a new plot during the same plot phase AoS was used against you, use Den of the Wolf to redo the Plot phase or use Rhaegar Targaryen to end the round quickly!
