Custom quests

By Notepadgamer, in Deathwatch Gamemasters

So I have been creating this campaign for about 3 months With some friends but I need some input from the community to add in some servers ions from the main goal, so here is the campaign overview.

Ok what happens is that the team is sent ahead of a main attack force to destroy a chaos threat, about one month since there ship is faster and only used to slow or halt the problem until the inquisition get there to finish it off, ok your probably wondering why would the deathwatch be involved in something petty, it's because it can go to hell verry fast, so just befor they. Arrive there told that the planet has gone dark and to except the worst wich did happen and the heretics opened a portal to let loads of deamons chaos space marines and turned guards men onto the planet, so what happens is just after you land when the ship is entering high orbit it's destroyed sending rubble onto the planet wich is going to prove a vital roal in the campaign when you run out of ammo or need to get new weapons you will have to go scavenging, so back to line about 3 days in the chaos threat seems to have dwindled drastically but what realy happend is that the chaos are setting up "firebases" for the up coming battle where a small section of nids that escaped the battle of hive fleet behemoth and have come to try and heal there wounds, so the space marines are stuck between chaos and nids, and they have to survive till the inquisition arrives, so I have a block of about 15 days when at the moment all I have as side quests are find refugees and supply's , then ther told by one of the refugees that there is a way off the planet but not to escape since it is only a cargo vessel to get to the nabouring planet to try and servive better, so they land on the planet and wait till the inquisition arrives but the planet has been taken by nids, so I have another small gap about 5 days where all I have is rescue survivors, then the inquisition arrives but is shot down as soon as they enter the system by the nid hive fleet where by some sort of luck it crashes on the planet your on and you have to search or scavenge the ship or the outside world to try and find a way off the planet to inform others and to survive that barrage of pain.

So what do you think? And what other side missions and input would you put in?

Just so you know this is the first time I'm gm'ing since befor all I have done is the role play side so you help will be berry nice

A couple of side missions you could send them on:

* A large section of the destroyed vessel is crashing down nearby. Both the group's augers and the chaos marine augers are able to detect that this large section contains a great deal of ammunition, food and medicae supplies. It crashes down in a mountain range that only seems to have one path to get through to it. The forces of the archenemy and the pcs have to race each other through a treacherous pass as the environmental damage done by the falling section causes a localised hurricane to form over their heads.

*One of the refugee groups goes missing between their evacuation point and the spaceport. All signs indicate it was probably a Lictor, and the PCs have to track it down and destroy it before the Hive can find out where all the refugees are. Sadly for the PCs, sometimes Lictors hunt in pairs…

*One of the refugee groups have been taken by the traitor astartes forces to something called the Corus Engine. The PCs have to stop the traitors OR kill all the refugees before they are able to be sacrifieced to the Engine for whatever dark purpose it is designed for. Have fun thining of something horrible for it to do.

*Capturing a fairly clean tyranid gene-sample, the kill team must then sneak into a large traitor firebase without calling attention to themselves or killing anything, and hack into the machine spirit of the automated turret cogitators. The gene-sample is placed inside the cogitator so that the tarantula turrets and other automated systems will fire on tyranids but only tyranids. If they can sneak in and sneak out, the archenemy won't even know what's wrong until the loyalist forces attack.

Those should cover a couple of months :D

WOW thank you, this will help so much. aplauso.gif

Now all I have to worry about is if it's going to be enjoyed, but that won't be a Problem now I have all these side quests happy.gif

Glad I can help!
