Questions on Anima lore…

By Xamusel, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Okay, so I have a reader of one of my fan fictions that would like to know about the lore of Anima: Beyond Fantasy, or, more specifically, the background, history, and the plot of the game. If it wouldn't be any trouble, could you guys help me explain for my readers the background? I'm working on providing background info for those that haven't heard of Anima before, and this would even include character backgrounds, if at all possible.

Just so you guys know, this is one of my chances to explain why it's a good idea to look into the lore of the setting, among other things. I don't intend on seeking profit out of this, all that would happen with that would be me being sued for copyright infringement, at least if I tried to sell it the way it is now.

Thank you for understanding my situation.

The History is actually very detailed and very LONG, compared to most campaign settings at current. So you might want to ask for one time/event in particular. Present? War of God? Arrival of the Kami? And there's more. Each one has a fair amount of history.

Remember, this isn't for me to learn more on specifically, it's for my readers that read my Anima: Beyond Fantasy works. I was hoping to start from the beginning, but that would probably be a bit too much, right?

In any case, starting from the beginning, if at all possible, is what I'd prefer, but I don't know if it'll work. Is it a good idea to learn about it in pieces?

Ack, sorry it took me so long to respond. Had some internet issues :P My cable box decided to completely fry in a lightning storm and it took then almost 3 weeks to replace ><. Anywho, do you still need the run down?

Well, it depends how much information you want to give them at this stage (in terms of background knowledge - The Powers in Shadow, C'iel & Gaira etc).

You could just give them a copy of the Chronology pages (30-31 in Gaia), and if they're interested in anything in particular, expand on it.

@Jenks: Yes, I'd like it still. I was just wondering if anyone else was going to mention the info, but apparently not before you got back. Still, in pieces that would be manageable, okay?

@Beadle: Hmm… you raise a valid point. Okay, you convinced me on that, though I'd still like to get the whole lore in typed form soon.

Typed form? Have them buy and then read "Gaia: Beyond Dreams - Volume 1".

Honestly, as others have pointed out, the history and lore of "Anima / Gaia" is sooo **** extensive that a quick description is almost not possible.

If you yourself are fairly understanding of the history, go through the books and type up some quick briefs on each period of Gaia's history and provide that to your reader.

*facepalm* Right… should've seen that coming.

In any case, I'll be doing what I can, at least for the readers' sake.

I'll see you guys later (hopefully).
