BSG History : SPOILERS!

By Trump281, in Battlestar Galactica

It would make sense if they were all Cylons.

What happend in last weeks episode however made little sense -.-

As for Kara, I assume she is a "new" model. We do not know what happend to Helen yet either, it could be possible she found Starbuck and transferred her memory into a Cylon (since they are all Cylons anyway really :P )

None of that explains the brand new viper that appeared, so I am guessing there is someone or something which created/fixed kara and gave her a new Viper. My vote goes to Helen and Boomer :P (or maybe the mysterious boxed daniel?)

Another hypothesis for Kara could be that she IS the Daniel model. Cavil/Ellen did mention something about Cavil messing up the genetic code of that one, Kara did have that artist's studio loft back on Caprica, and Kara is still rather tomboy-ish.

Though, I can't remember specifically some of the things they said about that, as I think they were also talking about the Simon model in the same conversation (maybe?).

Did Cavil permanently box the Simon model? Or this Daniel one?

Other people are speculating that Kara is Daniel's daughter (since they established she is artistic like Daniel was said to be)

The daniel line was made unviable.

Ellen said "Boxing isnt permanent like what you did to Daniel." making it sound like Daniel was done in completely.

Also, Kara painted the supernova, which she wouldn't know about if she was a Daniel. Although, I kind of like the idea of her as a Daniel, as the original Starbuck was a guy.

For those weirded out by the time stuff with the final five coming back to earth: 'time slowed down for us' means that while their journey may have taken a couple thousand years, to them it was only seemed a short period of time (weeks, months, years), due to weird physics stuff.

As for technological regression: see Roman Empire then Dark ages.

Also: Kara could be Tigh and Ellen's daughter. That would be fitting given Tigh and Kara's relationship.

Also, most things have an explanation now, but not one: what's up with Baltar? Is he really just a delusional schizophrenic afterall?

Actually, the last episode slipped in a possible explanation there. Anders says that the final five were all warned of the impending holocaust by someone that nobody else could see. Sounds a lot like what Baltar's been dealing with...

OK, I'm really getting confused on the timeline in the show and the last episode threw a lot more at us. Basically, I'm trying to figure out when and who went to Kobol in the first place and when/who went to Earth.

I wrote a summary in this thread, that coveres the last episode. Did you read it?

??? And I replied to it way back then. I suspect you're looking at my message at the top of this page as if I just wrote it when, in fact, it started the thread. Very dumb software choice, but then these forums have had a lot of problems to work out. :)

oops sonrojado.gif

my bad

For what it's worth, Ron Moore has confirmed that there will be no Daniel model in the show. It was really just added because they realized they had skipped a number when listing all of the other Cylons. Just an excuse for never mentioning a #7.

I don't think that this is a big deal in this case, but I think we should abstain from quoting authoritative sources here. This thread seems to be about confusion and speculation, not about what is actually going to happen in the last few episodes. Personally, I would like it to stay that way, and don't want any bit of the ending ruined. So could we make sure to do this, or at least change the title of the thread to specify that there are spoilers on un-aired episodes?

It's interesting that they basically goofed in their numbering, because I had long ago noticed that there was no 7, and thought there must be something special about that model, considering (at the time) it seemed the final five were 7 & 9-12.

I agree. I don't want the last 4 eps ruined in any way. The only good thing about this, is that I had just read somewhere else that Daniel WOULD be in the show, so now I'm back to 50/50 unsure if he will be or not, and thus nothing is ruined yet.

I don't want to read spoilers either, but resolving issues of wild speculation seems okay to me. Isn't it better to focus on what really will/might happen? If the writers just mentioned #7 to clean up a little mess of theirs, I'd rather not chase my tail wondering what it really "means". <shrug> Anyway, I hadn't intended to get into an ongoing discussion about the show here (there are other sites for that) and was just trying to get some different perspectives on the timeline. I'll hang back and see what the future holds. :)
