So looking at the book rituals are pretty vague on purpose. There's a ride variety of affects that can be achieved and its all up to the gm. Have you guys toyed with making specific rituals and charging xp for them? or how do you guys go about creating and determining rituals for your sorcerers?

In our game, Rituals are free to learn, assuming you can find them in appropriate books or someone to teach you. In fact, with time, focus and the right skills, Sorcerers can even go about making new ones, or customize existing ones.
