Fiscal and a calendar years are obviously different. While many businesses operate financially on the fiscal year, not all do, and even some that do, do not communicate to customers using that metric but the more familiar calendar year. You get to the beginning of September and don't have access to them, then I think you have a reason to get anxious.
No.
Once I learned they were working on it and it wasn't out yet, I got anxious… lol. I absolutely LOVE this game.
lol. I could go on at length about why you should relax, but honestly the moment I found out about it I wanted to be able to go to my FLGS and buy it. That I couldn't made me unhappy too, so I feel your pain.

The 3rd Quarter has just barely begun, your complaint makes no sense. Maybe I should start a thread about how everything I want is late according to the Mayan calendar, *OR* I could just accept that playing word tricks doesn't make things appear faster.

Mayan calender still has a few more months on it still.
;-)
That aside, it'll be released around GenCon.. or, at the least, that's what we've all been assuming (it's also possible that Gencon will see a release but the bulk of the product won't be shipped over for a month or so after the fact).
I'm actually going to try and have a few friends pick up core sets for me when they go to Gen Con, since I can't make it and I want to play it as soon as I can.
Yes, I'm chomping at the bit, as I'm sure plenty of others are…
I wonder, though, can the "true blue" release date be at Gen Con, with such short notice. I mean to say, the official release date hasn't been said yet, and imo the closer Gen Con gets without FFG saying the game will be shipped to stores shortly after Gen Con makes me believe that beta testing the game still isn't quite sussed. Any thoughts?

Hard to say. Last year, Blood Bowl: Team Manager was "pre-released" at Gen Con. I say pre-released, because they paid extra to have 300 copies air-mailed to make it in time for Gen Con, which they had sold out of by Friday. The rest of that first print run was on a boat, and didn't hit these shores for at least another month or two (if memory serves). This year could be similar for Netrunner. Or, perhaps the boat is already here and they are just holding off on releasing stock until Gen Con hits?
The good news is that it's been on a boat since at least last week so we might see a September release instead of the October one that had been speculated.
