Multiple responses

I've read the FAQ however I would like to know I have read the information correctly on this. The issue I have is timing of responses on event cards and cards in play. For example ( I can't remember the exact setup) If I would want to play Die by the Sword, triggered by Roose Bolton winning a challenge. Could I choose to wait to play Die by the Sword after my opponent has no responses to play or do I reveal it after I won the military challenge with Roose?

Also, as a side question… Why does it specifically say on the plot card Fortified Position to 'Limit 1 per plot deck' if you cannot have any duplicates of plots except the Power of Crest anyway?

So, if you are First Player when the challenge is over and you say "no Response," then your opponent says "no Response," everyone's done. There are no more Responses because all players have passed. You could try to say "oh, wait, I do have a Response," but if you do, your opponent gets the chance to change his mind, too.
