roll ship?

By Trader Austin, in Rogue Trader House Rules

has anyone made any rules for the manuvier roll ship. this would be the ship turning along it's long axis or flipping over. something that would be used if say a light cruiser had it's port battery damaged or destroyed, it rolls ship and brings it's starboard guns to bare. it being space you have 3-d to work with so "down" is whatever the artificial gravity says it is. so it makes no difference if you are "upside down" relative to an opponent. this makes much more sense than turning the ship around to bring different guns to bare.

RT Space combat??? Make sense????? Nah……. Best to leave it at 2D to make it all confusing for people. happy.gif

On a lighter side of things, there have been some Forum discussions on similar aspects of 3D combat or just space combat in general.

Hope these help a little. As for your Houserule on "Rolling" a ship…… I don't see a problem it really. Huh…… Quite simple really…… Nope….. No major disadvantages of this. Penalties to firing ship armaments during that turn, only able to travel in a straight line while conducting this maneauver, and the possibility of being stuck in a perpetual spin if failed drastically with later tests needed to stop the spin. Other than those immediate issues coming to mind…. nothing.
