Additional Dice

By Flashie_Dirk, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi,

As a semi-avid Descent and DOOM player, I really appreciated the extra dice sets that were on sale - because you can never have enough dice!

So I would be very happy if there'd be additional Descent 2nd edition dice sets. I'd be sure to order 5 sets.

I contacted FFG, and they told me they'd forward the idea to sales to show that there is demand for such a product. Maybe the community can show how much demand there is by replying to this topic.

Please respond with something like "I would buy n sets" if (and only if) you intend to buy them. Thanks!

Dirk

:)

I'm SURE FFG will release these though. They pretty much have for every other game.

I too am in for additional dice sets. And yes, there are members of our group that are ***very*** superstitious … don't want to touch someone else's "bad" dice set … LOL

Descent 1 took a fair bit of room to play and its natural for players to set dice beside them which is often out of reach from other players.

Decent 1 you would have your stats and equipment that would always use the same dice so it was nice to always have it at hand.

Heroes don't like Overlords messing with their dice and vice versa lengua.gif

I would definitely be in for at least 2 extra sets to split between heroes.

I have four Dicesets for my Descent 1-Game. It is good to have the Dice you need by your side.

I would by 3 additional Sets for my Second Edition.

Extra dice are a good thing at any table. Ever tried playing an pen and paper rpg with a single set of dice with one copy of each? It's a royal pain in the butt.

I'd definitely get at least 2 extra sets. I'm sure FFG will oblige as they did with Descent 1e, just not sure how long after release it will happen. Hopefully someone makes a good Android app to last until then.

I actually had a post on this same subject… that appears to have been removed from the boards. If I wasn't so certain that I had put it up and people had responded I'd think I was going crazy.

None the less, I would purchase at least 1 set, possibly two. I know one of the people I played Descent 1st Edition with would purchase his own set as well.

I would get between 2 and 4 sets…

I would def get at least one more set!

They would be foolish not to come out with more dice for us to buy. I think that anyone who buys the game will for sure buy extra dice. I find it strange that they did already have that for something for us to pre-order already.

I think I could get just one extra set. That'd probably be enough.

I would get 4 extra sets. I played this game two times at Epic Games in Centerville, Ohio as they were had a Demo going. One set for 5 players was not enough and we were always asking or rolling dice to another player. I think each player should have his own set as well as OverLord. Personally I like each having their own set in any game I play and enough dice where you usually do not have to roll some and then roll again. I often have different colored dice for the player and different for the monster if you are rolling for each such as in ATOE of Fortune and Glory. For Arkham Horrow each player usually has 2 sets or 10 dice each but sometimes there we do have to roll some extra. I bought the AH special Elder Sign dice for each player up to 4. In most games I almost never use the dice that came with the set unless they are special like in Descent. I also like to pick different colors with other games to play with each time although when I bought a bunch of extra dice I had in mind certain colors for different games I had.

As far as Descent Demo today it was really fun. I had the version one but never had played it, going to sell it and get the Version 2 as I like the dungeon tiles, smaller monsters, even though some are still large. I like the cards replacing many of the extra tokens of Version 1. Everyone talked today of how the game seemed to be balanced no matter what Heros were playing with other Heros. People already had their favorites.

BTW, one of the guys was at Fantasy Flight Games last week and said almost everyone asked for extra dice when one of the designers said they would probably make them if their was enough interest.

Gotta get 4 more sets as soon as they are on sale, I hate asking for dice and passing dice.

I would buy two sets, creating one for the Overlord and two for the players to share.

I would buy at last one, possibly two.

I ran the 2nd Ed demo for my store, and always there was the "Where did the blue attack die go?"

I would buy 1 or 2 sets.

Probably 2 sets for me.

After playing in the preview event, I'd definitely but at least 1 set of additional dice, possibly more. The sooner the better!

I'm in for at least one, but most likely two. One for the OL and two that the heroes can share. Did the same thing with 1st Ed.

We just played with a full group yesterday, and we would definitely want two more sets!

They'll make them if there is enough interest? Really? They couldn't hardly keep the 1E extra dice in stock and with the changes in 2E everyone will be rolling the blue attack dice. And they wonder if there will be demand for extra dice? Sounds like a delaying tactic until they get the base game in stock. How can they not make extra sets available?

Oh, I will be buying at least 2 sets of extra dice, maybe more.

I'd probably buy 2-4 more sets. I bought 3 of the 1st edition dice sets and that ended up being perfect. But I need to play 2nd edition several times before deciding how many extra are necessary.
