Throwing Objects

I think they have the opportunity to fix a very broken rule segment:

so basically you can pick up and throw anything up to half your carrying weight for a number of meters equal to your strength bonus. if you throw something at a person/creature it becomes an improvised weapon.

so let's go to an extreme example. A pimped out ogryn with best quality synthmuscles and max stats (str 70 (11) TG 70 (9)) can pick up 1125 kg and throw it 11m. thats a renault clio…

if that thrown car hits, it will do 1D10+9 Impact damage primitive (7)

that's an absolute joke.

should'nt the thrown object do 1D10+SB+TB I damage?

I'd argue that you have created an edge case.

Yes if an Ogryn would throw something at you that weights a metric ton then surely it should do more damage than 16 but that same ogryn would also do a maximum of 16 points of damage throwing a stone.
So the problem really lies in the fact that the weight of the object does not have anything to do with the damage.

Changing how the damage for thrown objects is determined doesn't really change that problem, rather it makes it even more of a problem since now that car from your example would do more damage but so would that stone and suddenly throwing around stones become better than guns or melee weapons.

In fact in your example the pimped out ogryn would deal 1d10+11+9 = 1d10+20 damage with a rock. That's an average of 25 damage. That' just a bit less damage than a Plasma Cannon including penetration. (Which deals an average of 21 damage with 8 pen)

maybe one should crossreference the weight of the thrown object with the tabel for maximum lifting capacity. so the 1225kg car would do 1D10+15. and a stone would do 1D10.
