I went a little nutty and generated an order of battle for my regiment, using a few of the Only War classes. It's based off of one of the Mech Infantry Orders of Battle from Imperial Armour 3. At once rather detailed and not, in that it doesn't have all the classes. Thoughts? Advice?

We will be playing a regular infantry squad (zoom far in), but I liked the idea of knowing what the overall structure of the regiment might be and what resources would be available for support or scenery.

As a note, the numbers on the left are the number of units of that type in the parent unit. So for example there are 3 artillery batteries per artillery company, three artillery companies per artillery brigade, and 1 artillery brigade per regiment.

The numbers on the upper right are how many guardsmen total are in that unit, so for example there are 12 guardsmen in an artillery battery, 46 guardsmen in an artillery company, and 246 guardsmen in an artillery brigade.

That's awesome! Do you mind if I pinch that organization for the 5th Harcourt Mechanized Infantry Regiment? Sure would save me a lot of work.

Did you use some sort of tool to create this because this looks awesome and I want to make my own.
Could you further explain how to read this chart properly?
I'm assuming that the numbers in blue on the left hand side tell you how many of these types there are (so 20 HQ Staff Squads and 3 Heavy Mortar Batteries) and the numbers in black represent how many men there are per group, so 15 men in the HQ Staff Squad).

Assuming you made that in photoshop or a similar tool could you share the raw resources you used to create this? Like fonts, and all the icons?

Related: There's an error in the HQ Staff Squad. It shows 3 Operators but only lists 2 (the number of men assums 3 operators since war machines aren't counted).

I'm not sure if this is based on some official or very real Order of Battle Chart Thingy but one thing I'd change is split the number in the black squares into two. The first number representing number of men and the second the number of vehicles.

He probably just used Photoshop or a similar image editing program. You could even do it in MSPaint, though that would be more difficult and take longer. Copy/Pasting images and changing color isn't very difficult.

That said, it is pretty cool.

Thanks for the feedback! The OoB is based on the 114th Cadian Regiment - Mechanised, found on page 266 of Imperial Armour III. I made some tweaks to make it make a bit more sense for only war, but the basic organization and unit counts is the same. That same book has an OoB for a mechanised regiment and an elysian drop troop regiment. I really don't want to pester, and I see it is canon, and I'm aware thats imaginary Warhammer 40k world… but 4 Brigades in a Regiment? Historically it was 2 Regiments to form a Brigade and after Korean War Brigade and Regiment became nearly the same organisational unit with different name. Roughly in contemporary armies it is Brigade = Regiment.

It used to be that they were from 2-6000 men (The Storm Trooper Regiment was the largest with as many as 10,000!
