Mission idea?

By Never_ending, in Deathwatch Gamemasters

Hello I'm a newly arisen GM and was thinking of creating a mission for my guni… I mean PC's.
I want you guys to say if the story I thought up so far is any good and what I could add to it, in terms of enemies, mood and so on.

The Deathwatch answer the distress call from a system within the Jericho Reach, archives of the distress call frequency and clearance is Space Marine in origin.

Upon entering the system from where the distress call originated, they find a massive Space Hulk, the astropath pinpoint the signal is coming from deep inside the space Hulk. Records show the Space Hulk is called "Phantom of Krylsa" with information of several attempts by Space Marine, most notably Blood Angels, entering the Hulk and never returning. The Blood Angel has place high security protocols that should the Space Hulk be sighted the Blood Angel's must be alerted.

The Kill-team enters the Space Hulk to investigate by commands of their superiors, they giev the pre-text that they would require someone to map the Hulk.

Upon entering the Hulk the KT finds the corridor they’re in is clean to a sheen, then blood runs down the wall corroding it. The KT snaps out to find the corridor is in disarray with signs of old blood stains on the blood and walls.

While they journey through the hulk they will come across the corpses of Space Marines and others, Xenos and humans. Most of the Space Marine corpses are Blood Angels or their successor chapters.

The KT can feel they’re been watched and have attempted to face their stalkers but have thus far failed.

When they near the centre of the hulk they find it’s the remains of a Blood Angel Battle barge, inside the entire interior is coated with blood that is still wet strangely. Finally their stalkers attacks them revealing themselves to be snarling monsters who leap at them with nothing but claws and fangs, what’s more these blaspheme have parts of red power armour with the Blood Angel insignia.

After battling the monsters the move into the Battle Barge finding nothing but destruction as they move towards the bridge of the ship.

Once there they find scattered reports from the damage cognitive, they make reference to a section of the Battle Barge holding something very important.
The KT will battle a few squads of monsters, some using the blessed Bolter and other instrument of death against them.

When they arrive at the destination they find a Furiso Dreadnaught barring their way, the dreadnaught is pitted with gore and has physically changed so that a face with rows of fangs juts from the sarcophagus, it also bore many other changes like wings of steel and a insect like lower body.

The KT engages and manages to destroy the corrupted Dreadnaught.

The team finds out what’s so important to the Blood Angels that they would want to be informed of the hulk.

Inside a sealed room guarded by the mummified remains of a Sanguinary priest, who appears to have taken his own life with his Reductor, a golden ornate table held three brass cups.

Any Blood Angel in the KT will know what they are, these are the holy relics of the Blood Angels, Blood Chalice.

Unknown to the KT one of these Chalices is in fact a fake, but the most damming thing about this fake is that it’s a trap set up by Chaos.

Should the KT realize that one of them is fake they will need to do something about it.

Whatever they decided to do the Space Hulk will begin the process of re-entering the warp, the KT can set the plasma reactors on the Battle Barge to overload itself thus destroying the Hulk.

The KT can make a alternate escape, instead of returning to their original entry point, by using one of the other ships within the hulk.

The Missions ends when the KT returns to the Strike Cruiser with the Blood Chalices.

Whoops, looks like I typed away too much… so what do you guys think?

I came up with the ideas but wasn’t too sure if it would be exciting or not.

Any feed back is appreciated.

Note: Sorry for my grammar as English isn’t my first language

Sounds like an excelent idea for a prolonged mission. Though it does (some what) hang on the fact that you have a Blood angels KT member, perhaps even if one of the PC's was a sucessor chapter or a chapter that has (in the past) worked closely with the Blood Angels.

Creating a trap that only one person/group that may not be involved with/in the mission is a great risk. Not that I'm berating you for having the guts to do so I'm just giving you a heads up.

Cheers and good luck with the awesome idea.

I must have worded that badly, my bad.

I'm only saying that the Blood Angel would recognize that they're Blood Chalices.

As for finding out which is the fake… I really haven't thought that out.

I was thinking of having a forbidden lore test made, or even having a psychic test, but it's rather hard to think up a good way for the KT to figure out that one of them is a fake without making it too easy.

Also I'm thinking of having other enemies on board the hulk, maybe mutated chapter serfs or something?

Then I realize I read it wrong to Begin with. Sorry!

a Psychic test would make sense, as a psyker would be able to detect the taint of Chaos.

But in case that the Lore check would give the other mundane marines a chance to detect the deception. Any Blood Angels Marines would likely get a bonus of some sort as they would have seen others of the sort, and if they're an Apothecary they would get another bonus on that seeing as they may have handled one of them.

Mutants? by all means throw them at them I've had PC's in the game I was a player in Complain that we never got to burn any of them.
