Basic question about Too 'Ard to Die

By Asmoridin, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Too 'Ard to Die: Attached unit gains Toughness X, where X is the damage on that unit.

Just to clarify, when a unit takes more than one damage, that damage is resolved BEFORE they would gain toughness, right?

For instance, I send my happy Orc into combat, he takes two points of damage, then has toughness two from then on, as opposed to he takes a point of damage, gains toughness 1, canceling the second point?

Thanks!

Toughness works when damage is assigned, and your orc gain toughness when damage is already dealt ("damage on it"). Damage from one source is assigned in the same time, so when he takes 2 damage, he takes it as normal, but from now on he has toughness 2 and can cancel next 2 damage from other sources.

Ah, that's what I figured. Thanks!
