OK - the Forum Search is blanked out (not selectable). Can anyone tell me how to search on this Forum?

Target the text that says "Search The forums... " . I know, It's weird. Type there. Word of warning though, it's the world's worst search function ever. You can't constrain it by sub forum, and it will return the same thread multiple times.

Ah - that was an "Oh Duh" moment I guess.
