Rules Questions

By Kennakai, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I took a cursory look through the posts here but didn't come to any conclusions so I figured I'd post these (sorry if they've been answered before).

1. If a Shadow character that is in play is put back into shadows, what happens to attachments and duplicates on it?

2. When Misinformation is played against the attacker and there were no defenders for the challenge, does the attacker get an unopposed power regardless of losing the challenge?

Thanks for your time.

Nevermind question #2, found the answer in the core rules.

First of all, let me point out that duplicates can be discarded from a Shadows card to save it from being returned to Shadows.

However, should a card return to Shadows while it has attachments or duplicates, those attachments/dupes become illegal, and are therefore discarded.

Specifically, when a card returns to Shadows, it leaves play. So all the attachments, power, etc. on it will be discarded - exactly the same as if the card had been killed, discarded, returned to hand, or otherwise removed from play.

To be sure on #2, you only get power for unopposed if you win the challenge.

That was our play groups assumption, thank you both for clarifying *bow*
