What to do with extra uniques?

By Captain Poe, in Strategy and deck-building

Its sometimes useful to have an extra copy of certain uniques within your deck, to increase the odds of drawing that card, which can be pivotal to success depending on the deck. However, once you have the card in play, extra copies lose value quickly. I find sometimes having an extra copy of a unique ally can be useful if they have very low HP, or if i want to sacrifice them for gain, and just play them again next round, but this usually is not the case. So what are the options for excess uniques? Help me build a list:

Discard with Eowyn for questing bonus

Use for the Long Dark's location tests

Discard with Daeron's Runes for additional card draw

Discard with Protector of Lorien for +1 Will or +1 Defense

Save as a throw away cards for certain treachery, locations, or enemies that force discard.

Place back into deck and force lower into deck with Gildor

Use to damage enemies with Taking initiative in conjuction with Gildor.

Erestor comes to mind

Use Gildor and Ziggy to convert it to resources.

Thats a pretty good idea. I never play with ziggy, because I don't see the point in him unless you build around him, and don't like building around him because i feel it kinda take a lot of the difficulty out of the game.

- use Gildorion to get rid of them

- put them aside and let your kids do some roleplay with them

- use them as a reminder that ANYONE can be replaced

- paint a beard on Arwen and claim that she's Ziggy

Use them to exchange for your favorite Tactics events via Hama.

Thats another good one.

I thin you could argue that the Trollshaw Scout and Bruinen might not be quite as useless as people think they are in a unique heavy deck.
