Can Anyone Make Links Work?

By Kennon, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

While not strictly game related, it is at least tangentially so, because I'm desperately trying to add a new link to my signature for the new article that I have up on the MGU site. Unfortunately every time I attempt to do so, I get MySQL errors and can't change it. I'm attempting to just remove the current link that I have and add a new one by pasting the address into the url box in the insert link popup. I seem to remember that was how I did it previously, but it has been awhile. Also, for that matter, does anyone know how to make my link look like something reasonable? That random squawk of javascript or whatnot that it gives you now isn't very informative or appealing. For that matter, one of the other fields in the add link popup may allow you to set text to appear as the link, but darned if I know which it is. *sigh* Wizards have to actually be simple and straightforward to be useful....

What I wouldn't give for BBCode to just be allowable here.

To add URLs/email addresses, you highlight the text in your signature that you want to be the link, click the link button in the toolbar, and paste in the URL/email address. It worked fine for my signature block for adding the NYC meta website and email address. But I'm stumped, because I just tried adding a link to your article in my signature block and kept getting an error message when I tried to update. Yet I can add a link to it in this message:

Ah nice tip on how to make links intelligible. Now if only we knew why mine won't seem to work in signatures.... Hmm....
